About the Accord Recalls ..

Discussion in 'Accord' started by Harvey J Cohen, Nov 27, 2004.

  1. For what it is worth, the impending air bag related Accord (2004-5)
recall does not cover ALL 2004-5 Accords. I have a 2004 EX-V6, and was
told by Honda America that the recall does not apply to my car.

I was also told that the transmission recalls do not apply to the V6
    Accords either ..

I think you have been misinformed, or you misunderstood. Everything I have
read says 2003- early 2004 Accord transmission recall applies ONLY to the V6
    equiped vehicles.

If anyone can quote an official source............?

The transmission issue only affects certain V6 5-speed automatics. The L4
    5-speed is performing beautifully.

Vehicles in the suspect range will be recalled and owners notified by mail.
Upon recieving the vehicle at an authorized repair center, vehicles will be
    handled this way:

15,000 miles or less- dealer will install oil jet kit. this mod corrects
    temperature related issue with gears.

more than15,000 miles- dealer will perform visual inspection of gears
and photograph. Photos will be forwarded to regional authorization center.
If needed, they will authorize dealer to install free replacement ATM in
    vehicle.
Anyone who wants a PDF copy of 04-037 Accord or 04-021 Odyssey bulletins
should E-mail me directly and I wll attach it for you.
