ABS light????????

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Happynappygory, Aug 15, 2003.

  1. The ABS light stays on while I'm driving in a '02 Passport. Does this mean the
ABS is malfunctioning? I have 50,000 miles so it will not be covered by the
warranty. Would disconnecting the battery reset it? I don't wanna spend too
much money since this car has been a moneypit since new.

On a 92 Chrysler, the ABS light stayed on for a few seconds longer than
    normal at startup.
A dealer told me that they didn't consider it a problem unless it stayed on
longer than 90 seconds, but that it would be repaired free of charge
because of an extended service bulletin. There were some o-rings that
didn't seal properly after a few years, so it took longer to pump up
    pressure.
It never stayed on longer than 15 seconds, so I never got it fixed.

Whenever something expensive happens, you should always check for ESB's,
    especially on safety related items.
