    Hi All,

I am cross posting this here since Honda Passport and Isuzu Rodeo are
prety much identical. I have a 2000 Rodeo LS 4X4. Recently my ABS
warning light (Orange) coming on and couldn't reset it. Not sure which
wheel sonsor is the culprit. Local Isuzu dealer would charge $85 to
identify where the problem is. Unfortunately, the warranty period is
over and I don't feel like spending $85 + the repair cost. If I can get
some help from you guys to identify the problem, I may be able to get
OEM parts or from the junkyards.

Local AutoZone has OBD readers but not for ABS Warnings. Any help is
    appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

how do you know its a sensor, as opposed to the pump or whatever? just
    curious.
a helm manual might help locate/troubleshoot the problem. id be tempted
to take em all out one at a time and clean/examine em, if possible. i
dont know if a voltmeter would help give a reading, or not.

You need to find out which code(s) are stored before you do anything.

First, determine if it happens only if the vehicle is moving. If it can
sit on the driveway and idle for five minutes and not generate a light,
it's probably a wheel sensor. Once you start moving, the system looks
for a clean signal from all four sensors (as well as the speed sensor).
Inspect the tone rings on the front for obvious rust / dirty grease
accumulation. Knowing your mileage is a help too. Have the brakes been
    bled according to the schedule?

Thanks for the info. My vehicle has 65K on it. The ABS warning light is

stale all the time. The moment you start the vehicle it comes on and I
    don't
have to drive. For the last two weeks it was on and off ocationaly.
    Now, it
will not go away. I can rule out the rear since the rear brakes were
    changed
2 month ago and I did not get any warning at that time. My suspecion is
    the
front. I bought this vehicle as used and not know all the history. The
braking part is working find just the warning light is concerning me. I
    can
ask my mechanic to bleed and see whether it solve the problem. I have
    the
Haynes manual but there is nothing about ABS sensor or speed sensor. I
    don't
even know how it would looks like.

Is there any web link I can check for additional info?

    Appreciate your help.

If the ABS light is going on before you roll, then it is most likely NOT a
wheel sensor. They haven't been exercised at that point, so can't show
    fault.

Pump or ECU would be my suspicion.

follow the wires from the rear sensors, they will end up on the
drivers side near the rear of the fuel tank at a 2 pin connector. i've
seen a lot of them where the wires are broken right there.
best i can do with out a code.
