Have any of you good people had your AC cut off for no obvious reason and
then come on later without warning? I can have the AC running and notice
that the green light under the AC button has gone out. I can hit the button
repeatedly but the AC won't come back on until it gets good and ready. I
have also noticed that during these times, the defogger for the rear windows
isn't coming on either. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is there a
control module that runs both of these units?

    Thanks,
    Wesley

On my 90 integra there is an ICU that controls a number of things (rear
defogger, wipers, and many flasher related functions) which went bad a while
ago. Honda wants about 130$ for it around here, and the other two Ive
ripped out of junk cars have had problems as well (albeit always something
different, one didnt have working flashers, one was wipers, mines the
defroster). However, mine doesnt have anything to do with the A/C. It is
located (again, for my car) on the backside of the fuse box. For the
defroster at least, you can jump it to ground and skip the timing circuit,
but you'll have to remember to turn it off yourself.

  3. Have you had your AC system checked. It could be, that your system is
low on refridgerant. There is a pressure switch in the coolant line
that will turn off you're AC if pressure is to low. Also Hondas are
famous for intermitant AC compressor clutch coil failure.
