I've had it back to the dealer twice but the problem is itermitant and
if the tech doesn't pick it up first time on hearing it it may not
reappear for a day or so, but what happens is when I reverse out of
the garage in the mornings, come to a complete stop, place in D, after
moving forward about 5 -10 yards I hear this slight scrape, maybe 1
sec. I also feel it through the accelerator pedal. It sounds like some
kind of linkage problem but I maybe way off with that. Other than that
    car drives great.
    Any help appreciated.

  2. I've seen the same thing on my '04 LX V6 coupe. People say it's the ABS
    adjusting itself and is normal.

Same with my '03 EX V6 coupe. You get used to it and even anticipate
    it after a while.

My 04 Accord Coupe V6 Auto does the same thing. It almost sounds like the
    transmission. Any ideas?

I really do think it's just the ABS like others have said. It happens
during the first few feet I go forward after backing out of my driveway
    in the mornings.

If it helps any, I had a '93 Volvo 850 (now own a 2002 Accord) and it
did an ABS check at 20km/h after startup.

The sound/feeling wasn't a scrape, but rather a very muted fast pulsing
like the ABS was activated, but at 1/10th the level...

  7. As mentioned by others it's the ABS. At 6kph from a fresh engine start,
the ABS pump runs briefly to pressurize the chambers. If you reverse down
your driveway a little faster it'll do it in reverse too.

In older ABS systems with large pressurized fluid accumulators, the pump
would only run when the pressure dropped below a threshold; the newer ABS
systems have only very small pressure chambers, integral with the valve
mechanisms, and they run the pump after every engine start.

Why didn't the dealer tell the guy who brought his car in twice to fix it
    about this?

    Thanks.
