Accord DX 2000 timing belt

Discussion in 'Accord' started by Cameron Tilson, Aug 2, 2007.

  1. Hello all,
My 2000 Accord, despite only 85,000 km has reached the 7 -year mark, so am
planning to have the timing belt job done at my dealer. In addition to the
water pump, there are number of other items that should be changed (seals
    etc).

Can someone please post the complete list of items that should be changed as
    part of this service.

    Thanks in advance.

85k km? i'd leave it. that's half the recommended service mileage. i
know there's supposed to be an age factor too, but 85k? the thing's
barely used. and leave everything else. seriously.

I agree our 90 accord timing the timing belt went 150k before it gave
out. Maybe have it checked and look it over and give it a serious
going over, definately if you have it done, DO change the water pump,
hoses, give the motor a good going over visually inspecting
    everything.
Seals, leaks, park it overnight on a clean news paper and check it the
next morning to see if things leaked or you have something else going
    on.
Never over look the obvious and check it twice to be sure.
Nothing to lose and you can never be too sure

You can't tell the condition of the timing belt by looking at it. I think
that you have to give years as well as miles equal consideration. ---"Maybe
have it checked and look it over and give it a serious going over," Poor
    advice.
Once you expend the labor to get it to that point; --Change it!!
