Accord squeak on bumpy patches

Discussion in 'Accord' started by Pete from Boston, Aug 25, 2004.

  1. My 990 Accord LX, 135k, has in the past few months developed a slight
high-pitched squeak when I drive over especially bumpy surfaces. It's
not loud, not a squeal -- it's almost just like an old chair might make
or something, clearly timed with the bounce of the car. Sounds like it's
from the back of the car, but it can be hard to tell.

Any ideas what's going on? Should I be lubricating something that
    wouldn't ordinarily get addressed?

If it's a '90 Accord, you might have a sway bar link problem. Look
around for loose or missing bushings under the car. bob

i had a problem similar to that with my '90 honda accord. go to the local
parts store and by some silicone lubricant spray and spray it around all
the ball joints . and make sure to get the lower ball joints in the front.

i had a similar problem on my '92 accord - after much aggravation, it
turned out to be the passenger seat making the noise. if i scooted it
all the way back, it'd stop. maybe give that a shot?
