    Hi,
I have a 99 accord. I messed up and drained the battery
yesterday. So I jumpstarted it and drove around for about
an hour to get the battery recharged..
The car started fine this morning, but the engine sounded
unusually quiet when I would stop at the lights. Sure
enough at one of the lights, the engine just stopped..
But I was able to start it and got to work without any
    further problems..
My question is that is this normal? Should I get it
    checked out..
    Any comments would be appreciated..

You might need to disconnect the battery completely for a few seconds.
Some of the logic circuits may have gotten scrambled, and need to be reset.

id probably go ahead and replace the battery. just driving around isnt
going to recharge it relaiably. and the ECU and sensors need a constant
reliable source of power to do their job right.

    Thanks for the followup..
One more observation is that battery's hydrometer showed
a "dark eye", as opposed to the "green eye".. Is it possible
for the battery have enough charge to get the engine going,
but not enough to keep the spark plug providing the ignition
    during the power cycle..
Pardon me in case I am saying something which can never
happen (I read up a bit on the internal combustion engine,
batteries and ignition systems to make some sense out
    of this)...
PS: battery is Delco freedom by Delphi (70D23L-MF)..

If the eye is dark, it didn't charge back up & it might be dead, ready for
burial. It sounds like it had enough charge to start the engine, but either
the alternator is not charging it, or its not accepting a charge.

Start the car and just let it idle for 10 minutes with no accessories on so
it can do the idle re-learn.
