My air compressor is not engaging. I had an incident when my fron driver
tire shredded and now I have some lose wires on the top of my fender. There
is one wire (white) that is not connected to anything, does anybody know
what this wire is? I know there is a relay by the radiator, how do I remove
and test it? any suggestions would be helpful. Another note: a friend of
mine did by belts about a month ago and he must've placed them back by
misaligning them by a tooth, would this have anything to do with it?

    thanks

Year and model? Are you talking about an actual air compressor or the
A/C compressor? Which belts did your friend replace? Alternator belt,
    A/C belt, timing belt etc.?

I'm sorry for being so vague. Yes, I am referring to the a/c compressor.
As for the lose wires, in the wheel well (front driver side) there are some
wires (that seem to go from the fuse box by the driver to different places
under the hood. These wires are protected by a cover that is screwed on.
Well, when my tire shredded this cover got ripped and exposed some wires and
one of them (a white one) is not connected to anything under the hood. One
of my questions is what is this wire for? Does it have anything to do with
    my A/C compressor not engaging?
As for the belts, he did all of them.

BTW, my car is and 94 accord lx

    thanks

There is a white wire that deliveries battery voltage (hot at all times)
to the relay for the A/C compressor clutch, the condenser fan relay and
the radiator fan control module. It comes from fuse no. 34 (15A) in the
fuse box under the hood (not the one under the dash), but I do not know
how the wire is routed. The radiator fan control module is (as I
understand it) in the cabin, so it is possible that the white wire goes
from the under-hood fuse box back through the firewall to the fan
control module and then across to the drivers side and forward through
the firewall again and along the fender to the relays up front.

I would find the A/C clutch relay first, and then trace the white wire
from it. If it ends up in a cut-off stump somewhere, that is probably
where the loose wire you found is supposed to go.

Be aware that there is more than one white wire in the electrical system
(at least two, according to the wiring diagrams).
