Hey i have a 2003 civic dx and want to add air conditioning.
Does anyone know if there is any aftermarket air conditioning avaliable,
cause i really don't want to spend $2000 to get the honda one put in.

    Thank you

The Honda one would be my choice. In fact, I did that back in '90 for my '88
Prelude. Bought the A/C in another Province, they shipped it to me, no taxes
paid (and they paid the courier charge). It didn't cost that much to have
the dealer here, install the unit.

    www.handaaccessories.com (Carmichael Honda-Sacramento) sells the unit....as
I recall, it was around $900 or so. You could then get a local shop to
install, if you are not inclined to do it yourself.

yes, but I live in Canada, so once you put on all the duty and shipping, and
convert to canadian, it would end up a bit more expensive
    :(

  7. I have a 2003 civic ex and I am very disappointed with the factory installed
standard equipment air conditioning. I also had a 88 Accord--375,000 miles
and a 2001 Accord with 125,000 miles. Granted the accords are bigger cars
with bigger engines; but cool air is cool air. I live in Connecticut and
drive through New York City everyday to Long Island. I really dread those
hot summer days, because the civic will not keep up the heat.

yes, my brother has a civic with air conditioning, and it is definately
lacking, my old 84 toyota corolla had better air conditioning....but no air
conditioning is still worse then crappy air conditioning
