And a screech question

Even with new drive/serpentine belts which were installed after a
recent timing belt repair, I still find my '90 Lude will make a
screech when pulling out from a dead stop if there's also a load
involved, which is to say if I'm starting up a slight incline or other
effort for the car to move. It's not bad, sounds like a belt slipping,
but with new belts I now wonder. A poor pulley bearing? Anyone had
this type of noise and tracked it down?

    TIA

New belts stretch a little when they break in. That's why the tensioning
spec is tighter on a new belt than for a used one. Also, the ribbs on new
serpentine belts don't always bed down into all the way into the slots on
the pulleys. They probably just need to be re-tensioned.
