Sure, just remeber this is a global group, so put your location in the subject
    line.

Uncommon. Probably useless unless you live in a major metro area.

I agree. You'd probably have more luck with local newsgroups, such as
tor.forsale.misc in Toronto. Either that, or try Ebay...

AUTOTRADER has always worked for me. www.traderonline.com.
Non-commerical ad with foto for $29.00 for 2 weeks. I have tried the
local newspaper too; costs more, no pictures, and only 3 lines of
    text. Waste of money.

  10. As a regular habit it *is* forbidden - use the sales groups for that. If
you're selling a car or parting out on a one-time basis, I think we can
    stand it.:)

For cars, only if you're willing to deliver the car to anywhere on
the planet for a test drive.

If it's an unusual car, such as a racer, or maybe an S600 or even an S2000.
People will buy cars long-distance if it's desirable and/or rare. But don't
list your '92 Civic DX here, especially without a location in the subject line.

Better yet, take it to e-bay and leave the newsgroup alone. There's an
audience already there who are actually interested.
