B18C Type R Troubleshooting

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by skycrystal9999, Mar 11, 2008.

  1. hi everybody
currently im driving a JDM 00 civic sedan swapped with Integra Type R
    B18C engine.
most parts are stock other than Mugen twin-loop exhaust system.
VTEC kicks in well at 5800rpm and it has made my driving an addiction.
    =)

however, there was a slight problem.
after ignition, when idling the rpm goes lower than 1k rpm and the
    check light is lit.
i have to turn off and start the car over again and add in a little
throttle balance over 1.5k rpm to heat up the car.

this only happens when i left my car undriven for hours or cold start.
so if there's anyone who know what this problem is, please kindly
    share ur opinion with me.
    thanks.

    hope i can troubleshoot it a.s.a.p =)

  6. i have my mechanic checked up my car, it's the throttle body problem
after cleaning it up the idling goes well again =)

but i doubt how long it would last before the throttle body gets dirty
    again... hmm
