I have some rattling on my 1997 Civic. I thought it was the heat shields. At just over 3,000 revs at a certain point I hear a sound that is like a windpipe that is steady. At lower revs I just hear intermittent rattling that sounds like loose metal plates. So, I have two different sounds at different revs. I took it to a Honda dealer and they reckon it is the "bafflers inside the centre pipe". Does this make sense to anyone, and does it sound right? Would a main dealer say it's something when it's not just to get the work?
