What are the correct voltages at the battery posts with the engine stopped
    and the engine running?

    thanks

with the engine running on any car the voltage should be about 13-15
volts... with the engine off the battery should be about 12.2 volts....

Depends. The nominal voltage for a '94 Civic with the engine running is
14.5V, but under certain circumstances this is lowered to 12.5V.
Stepping on the brake pedal will ensure that the voltage is NOT lowered,
so step on the brakes while doing the measurement..

With the engine off it is anyone's guess. Depends on state of charge,
temperature, how long the car has been sitting etc. You'll have a hard
time finding an actual spec for it, but an old rule of thumb is that
your battery should hold at least 12.6V after the car has been sitting
    over night.
