    Hi,
I'm looking into buying a 1993 Civic or Accord.
Can anyone suggest what are the most obvious faults I should look for?

Is rust a problem in your part of the country? Here in N.E. Ohio, my
'92 Accord is starting to need rust repair.
I'd stick to Accord over Civic if you are looking at cars with over
    100,000 miles on them.
Not too many faults that I can think of. Just depends how fussy you are
about oil leaks, and cold A/C, to name a couple of things. See if the
timing belt and water pump has been replaced at 100,000 mile intervals.
I recently bought a nice '93 Acccord in Fredrick MD for $2500. Found it
    at cars.com.
    Good Luck! bob

I once owned a 1993 Accord EX and loved it. The only thing that I did not
like about it was the radio antenna. If you don't oil it with 3 in 1 oil
about once a week--it stops working. I learned this lesson the hard way by
having to install a new one. After I started oiling it once a week--I did
not have any more problems with it. My 1999 Accord EX does not have a
metal antenna--the antenna is inside the back window. Don't buy the 1993
Civic--they don't have enough power. If possible, buy the EX or special
edition since those models have more options.
