CD player issue

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Newhope via CarKB.com, Sep 25, 2007.

  1. Hi there,

My car is Honda Civic 2005 VP, coupe, has about 36 K on it.

A few days ago, my CD player quits working.
Situation: I put my music CD into the slot. It took the CD then appeared "CD
load" on the screen then reject the CD.
It does not give me any hint why it was rejected.
    Please help.
    Thanks a lot.

    Have you tried other CDs?

Honda CR-V 2003 would quit playing CDs if the radio were switched on
during play of the CD. Had to disconnect power to reset the CD/radio.

First time, pulled the ground connection on the battery for 5 minutes.

Then we learned to turn off and eject the CD before turning on and
playing the radio, and vise versa.

Must be a 'bug' in the software controller in the radio. So, perhaps we
need to pull them, look at the model numbers/revision levels of the
firmware, on the printed labels, and see if any TSBs were ever issued?

Our radio/CD player DOES play all MP3 CDroms burned in K3B, on computers
running Mepis, PCLinuxOS, Fedora Core 6/7, all GNU/Linux distros freely
downloaded from http://livecdlist.com or http://distrowatch.com or
    http://www.mepis.org .

  5. When I switched from "AM/FM" (radio) to "CD/tape", it took the CD into the
slot, then it opped up "CD load" then it rejected the CD.

Thx for the web site, I will go there and check out the info.
