I just bought a 98 civic and it has the factory installed cd player....
the problem is...it doesnt play my burned cds....ive read online that
it could be the CD or the software im using...Im wondering if any1
else has had this problem, and has found a solution.

    regards,

newer CD factory installed cd players will play the cd-r it more the likely
gonna be the Deck. You could try another software program for burning but might
    not work.

When you burn a new CD-R, try closing the CD. This will mark the disk as
full so you can't add more material to it and also close out the file
system. If the deck won't recognize the disk then, you will have to
    upgrade the deck.

I have found that the software used to burn the CDs makes a difference. Also
    the media used.
I use Nero with TDK gold and that combo works for me.

I agree, I use Nero with Sony's Music CD-R - works fine. Also, don't burn
them as fast as you can. I burn mine at 2-4x. FWITW the Honda player in
my 2004 Odyssey isn't as good as the one in my trusty 98 Toyota Corolla. I
have had a few CD-Rs I've had to reburn.

Falco rules !! Tried the TDK and NERO @ 4x and it works like a gem.
    You rock!

    Thanks,

  7. Sorry - late to the thread, but it's the speed, not the brand. I use a
number of recording shareware and 4x always works. That goes for home
    stereos and clock radios too.
