Manual probably calls for 5W-20 like it does for the 2002 Accord and is
stamped on the oil filler cap.

you need to use the jackstands, after the car is lifted. do NOT crawl under
a car supported by 2 different cheap worm-drive tire changing jacks.

  5. Just to follow-up my own post....I went to owner's link on the
American Honda website........here is what it says for a 2001 Honda
    Civic:

"...Choosing a Motor Oil -- Honda recommends using a 5W-20 motor oil
year-round. Lighter oils flow easier once the cold engine starts,
bringing vital lubrication to moving parts.

Engine Oil Additives -- Today's engine oils are formulated to
maximize performance. Additives are unnecessary and increase the cost
    of operation..."

agreed, even if it was a descent jack, your still putting yourself at risk,
but one of those garbage scissor jacks that come with the car isn't a good
    idea, actually quite dangerous

I'm not so sure about those jackstands either. The ratchet mechanism
doesn't have much ratcheting action. A slight pressure on the lever,
and the jactstand can come crashing down. At least I think so. I have
some, and I'm afraid to use them without modifying it to make it safer.

Yes, the 5 part is light, fine. Has nothing to do with the 20 weight, once

  15. AFAIK, for all but the NSX and the S2000 they switched to 5W/20 in 2001.
Hmmm, not sure about the Integra.

  18. Changing engine oil is *not* a profession. Personally I've seen some
disgustingly shoddy work done by car uhh, "professionals"... which is one
    of the reasons for DIY.

    Everybody has to start somewhere.
