UK and US versions of the same car, what are the differences (apart
from the obvious altered handedness and lack of cruise)?

Most notably is the fact that the US Hybrid's been described as having
continuous automatic transmission whereas every site and garage I've
seen has described the IMA as a manual. How does a manual gearbox
    work with a hybrid engine?

  2. It has options, and one of those is the tranny, you can get a manual or a
CVT, at least here in the US you can.
A manual gearbox works with a hybrid engine, just like it does with a gas
engine, or a diesel. They are separate things, and aren't affected by each
    other in how they work.
