Father in law looking to buy a Civic LX or a Corolla LE. Any thoughts for the mechanics?
My folks had to make this decision last summer between the Corolla, Civic, Sentra and Protege. After testing all 4, they decided that the Protege was too small inside, the Sentra's seats were uncomfortable, and the Civic's ride was too rough. So they chose the Corolla (they bought an '04 CE) and have been very happy with it so far. I know this is a Honda newsgroup (I am the proud owner of a '93 Accord), but even I feel that the current Corolla is a better car than the current Civic. Not so much for the ride quality (which doesn't concern me personally), but the Corolla's engine has more power than the base Civic engine and has a smoother shifting automatic tranny (if that's your tranny of choice).
Both will serve him well. The all-new Mazda 3 may very well be the new benchmark in that class of car...only time will tell.
Yeah, the Mazda 3 is quite impressive. It's big for it's class and quite nice inside. It's only real downside it it's fuel economy. It burns almost as much gas as a 4-cylinder Accord, which is pretty shitty considering it's competing with the Civic and Carolla.
Get a Hyundai, dickhead. How to turn off 'Maintenance Required" light: 1. Hold trip/reset button on dash 2. Turn key to "ON" or start engine 3. Hold button til light goes out
If you only knew anything about cars looser! Where have you been fired from lately? I wonder if the other people here know about the charges against you?
I like H.H.R. ...sometimes he has clever replies, though sometimes not. This response was not one of his best.
