    Howdy,

I have a 1994 Civic and recently I got this Mugen EPROM chip to increase
horse power. The seller sold me the chip (28 pin), IC chip (20 pin), a
couple of resisters (10k ohms) and a jumper to enable the chip. Everything
seems to be working as far as rev upto 5K and the torque and HP.
Unfortunately the 'Check Engine Light is ON' all the time.

Has any of you done similar performance enhancement to your car. If so, how
did you make the 'Check Engine' light go away. I am not sure whether my OBX
Air Intake has anything to do with.

    Appreciate your help.

Mugen never made a chip for the 92-95 Civics. It is just a hacked .bin for a
    different motor.

When does the CEL come on? (checksum error on the chip?)
    What is the CEL?
What model is your car and engine in you 1994 Civic?
Where did you buy this setup?

I got it on eBay. Check the following similar Link.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2448884364&category=33597

    Chip Required:
    (1) 28 pin IC chip (MUGEN)
    (2) 2-10k ohm resistors
    (3) 20 pin IC chip
    (4) 1 jumper wire

    Installation Instruction:
1.. Install a jumper wire between (J1). This would switch Oki 66207
    processor to external memory mode.

    2.. Install a 10K OHMs resistor on (R52) + (R54)

    3.. Install a 20 pin IC chip (74HC373)

    4.. Install a 28 pin IC chip (27256)

My car is 1994 Civic LX D15B7 SOHC non-vtec (ECU: 37820-PO6-A52) Auto. The
moment you start the car the CEL comes on.

I am not sure how to read checksum error on the chip.
