    Hi folks,

I got a simple problem to describe: everytime i use cruise control in my
98 Civic LX with AT tranny, i hear an intermittent noise from the front of
the car, most possibly from the left where the cruise control unit is..
could be described as a knocking noise. and yes, intermittent.. and yes,
it stops as soon as the cruise control is cancelled (by pressing the brake
    or shutting it off).

    any ideas??

thanks a bunch for all the response by now, --ersin

  2. Maybe a vacuum valve that regulates the throttle actuator is sticking.
I'm not sure how you'd clean it. "Carb cleaner" is probably the right
stuff but you'd need to quickly flush lots of air through it to
evaporate the solvents before they damage rubber components.
