I have done a bit of reading but have not realy found an answer to one
    question.

Does it realy matter beyond looks which cold air induction kit to choose? I
mean, other than filter design they seem straight forward and the only real
things to take into mind is diameter, length, filter construction, filter
fit and looks, is one brand better than any other?

My $60 Bomz CAI works fine.
I don't have a bypass valve, but those are extra even with the premium CAIs.
And I could buy one from them and fit it to my $100+ cheaper CAI if I
    wanted to.

  3. all CAI are basicly the same
    get cold air
size number and shape of bends and piping are what you want to look for
the bypass valve WILL save your motor from dammage if you live with lots of
    RAIN and mud puddles..
