I tow four down with ad on tail lights.

If the engine isn't run for hours each day the battery will drain. Any
ideas of how to keep the battery charged, without running the engine?

Can I plug into the electric system of the tow vehicle? How? Safely?

Since you're turning the ignition switch to the 'accessory' position,
not the 'run' position, the only thing that can be draining your battery
is your car stereo, alarm system, and any interior lights that you're
leaving on. It must be time for a new battery, because the alarm is the
only thing drawing any current if you're doing the other part right. The
alarm shouldn't kill your battery for a couple or three months.

    Curly,

    Thanks for the reply.

You are correct in what you say, but the battery drains in days not months.
I turn everything off but something drains the battery. I've talked to
other CR-V powers with the same problem, so I don't think it's something I'm
doing. The accessory position must draw more power than I thought!

Any way, I still ask the question. Is there are simple way of running off
    the tow vehicle electric ?

    Thanks, Dick

Since the only other thing that's 'live' in the 'accessory' position is
the accessory power socket(s), why not buy one of those solar panels and
wedge it on the dash, or a side window while towing? Safe and simple.
    Getting cheaper every day, too:)
