I'm shopping for a used late model CR-V and I'd like your input on what
years to avoid or look for based on problem areas that were subsequently
fixed or must-have features that were added. Thanks for your input.

No problems that I can think of on any of them, if there were there would
be a ton of for sale in the newspaper( classified ).

I have a 2001, never took it back for warranty work I like the style of the
02's on up, but not enough to go into debt.

    Cory,
My new CR-V vibrates at highway speeds.
    Dealer can't find the problem,
    says it is unique.
    Itest-drove it in the city
and did not notice the vibration.
So, I suggest you drive a CR-V at
    highway speeds before purchasing.

The pre 99 models have the 128hp 4 cyl, while the 99-01 models have the 146
hp 4 cyl. Nothing to avoid otherwise.

  5. have you checked the wheel balance? That could be the problem I have had
that in the past the wheels have to be balanced for the speed you are
    travelling at.

    Cory,

To simplify your search, you might even look in another city. For
example, I live near Edmonton, Canada, but there are three times as many
used CRVs in Calgary due to its proximity to Rocky Mountains (and
    skiing).

The year models don't matter much, but it's nice, when buying a used
one, to have a longer list of colors and options available.

  7. I have a 2000 CR-V EX (bought new) that has had a lot of problems. The
a/c and heat have both quit working a couple of times. One of the fuel
injectors had a problem that the dealer had a hard time diagnosing.

The whole experience has soured me a lot on Hondas, which is all I've
    bought for years.

  10. I bought a 1997 CRV new. I have put 115,000 miles onit in the six years
I had it. I always used regular gas. It still runs like new - no knocks.
