Daytime Running Lights.....Problems

    Hi,

    I'm writing about a certain problem I have in my car...I guess I have
    identified that I'm having a probelm with my Daytime Running Light
    Module..

    I read many posts about fixing it..and I guess I'm gonna be doing that
    very soon...but the question that pops up my mind is that if I take out
    the DRL Module..and in a certain case I "don't fix it right"...what is
    the side effect for that...for both having the module out (will i be
    able to run my car)..and if the module is now faultier...does that mean
    only my high beam lights won't work..

    now in a similarly related problem...when I first diagnosed the
    problem..my high beams didn't work for a while...but now they are
    running..couple days ago I noticed that my passenger side low beam
    light is not operating...is it possible that it could be related to the
    DRL module? or that the light bulb is faulty and needs to be
    replaced...

    I have a 1996 Honda Accord (Canadian Model)...and it's really a pain
    reaching the light bulb to change it on the passenger side...beside the
    radiator "reserve" tank...I have something else .. it's like a empty
    pipe..that is bended..and it's open on one end..not sure what is
    it...it's very close to the battery..and it comes between it and the
    light bulb..so not sure what it is or how to take it out in order to
    change the light bulb...(trying not to spend around $40 to change the
    bulb)...

    any comments would be highly appreciated,

    I read many posts about fixing it..and I guess I'm gonna be doing that
    If you remove the 'DRL Module', your fog lights, high beams and regular head
    lights will not work.
    That hose is the overflow drain. If your overflow tank fills up, the coolant
    runs out the hose onto the ground. At least that's the hose I'm assuming you
    are talking about.

    Only the high beams will stop working, the regular lights will work. I had
    the module fail on my 94 Vigor, which has mostly similar setup as an Accord
    of the same generation, and the high beam were gone.

    Only the high beams will stop working, the regular lights will work. I had
    A failing DRL module and removing the DRL module are two different
    situations.

    I made my post after reading over the wiring diagrams and it appeared as
    though all the wires for the front lights (excluding marker and signal) go
    through the DRL Module. So I will look over the diagram again, but for now I
    stand by my statement that the all the front lights will not work if you
    remove the DRL module from this particular vehicle.

    I have reviewed the diagram again, looking closer than I did the first time.
    Only the high beams will not work.

    I believe it would be a major safety issue if the main headlights stopped
    functionning!

    That if the DRL module was tied in with the main headlights and the DRL
    failed, you would have serious problems.

    The power to the main beam headlights just goes 'across' the DRL board.
    If you unplug the board, all headlights will be dead (at least on a '95
    Odyssey). The average user wasn't expected to be unplugging the module.
    It's not a big safety concern. Kinda like unbolting the steering wheel
    :)
