    Hi,

Hoping to get some info on how to identify the source of a dead ignition on
my 1991 Accord. The car quite suddenly with no warning or symptoms. It
appeared the ignition was dead, since no there was no spark with a drill but
stuck in one end of a plug wire and the drill bit end near the engine, when
cranking. I replaced the igniter in the distributor with one that was
supposed to be good. No change. This time, I checked the spark with a
spark plug laying against the exhaust heat shield. No spark at all. What
    might be the problem?

Bad rotor and distributor cap? Bad ignition coil?

    phil,

Your symptoms don'tseem to match, but give this a try anyhow. Can you
hear the fuel pump cycle while you're watching the dash lights do the
'lamp test'? If not, check out this excellent site:

    Maybe yours has died completely?
