defrosting question

    my 02 civic wont put heat to the windsheild without at the same time
    engaging the air conditioner. anyone know how to get it to defrost the
    windsheild without using the a/c????help

    A) to do what you want, turn on the defrost, then hit the A/C button to turn
    off the A/C

    B) the reason it does that is because the A/C function acts as a
    dehumidifier. You usually want that function to remove the moisture from
    the air. The moisture is the prime cause of the inside of the windshield
    fogging up. The air coming out is still hot.
