I was getting ready to sell my broken civic as a parts car but then I read
    this page http://www.ebaymotors.com/fees/index.html - they have 2 $40 fees.
    Am I reading something wrong?

Seems pretty obvious it's $40 just to list, then another $40 if you
sell it. Interesting they don't charge according to the price you
    get.

Go sell it on autotrader.com. $10 listing fee until your car sells.
    Fewer dickheads than ebay too.

That's cheap. It costs to advertise any product out there. Hell, you
could just go sell it at CarMax where they will give you a check for
it.. minus around $200-250 in fee's (which they don't tell you until
after you agree to the price on your car... go figure?)

Or you could look at a few other advertising sources...
