If anyone has had any experience with this tool, I would really appreciate
it if you could share it with me. A friend of mine is planning on buying
this scanner and I was wondering if it is worth the investment.

    Thanks!

    Which one???

There are many to choose from. It's like asking for experience with a TV
    but not saying which make/model.

I have this one... http://www.scangauge.com/ and it works well plus gives
    some real-time statistics while driving.

My bad! The make and model are given below:

Equus 3130 Diagnostic Code Scanner with Live, Record and Playback Data
    Capability for OBDII (Post-1996) Vehicles

    Thanks,

I bought the PC based Personal diaagnodtic tool from:

    https://bd2jt.securesites.com/personal/personal_scantool.htm

in 2004 (for my 2003 Accord sedan). I've used it to read out a couple of
diagnostic codes, plus I know before I go if I'm going to pass
inspection. There's always the fun factor, of course.

IIRC I paid about $250 for the complete kit, e.g., data readout unit,
    serial cable, software, etc.
