    Hi guys,

Just wondering what could cause a stiff gear shifter (its a Manual trans)?
    Its stiff all
around, even when you move it back and forth in neutral.

My girlfriend is having a hard time with it, are the linkages
    not adjusted properly?

It may be that the linkage bushings are failing. I had that happen on a
Toyota years ago. As you probably know, the transmission is far from
    the shift lever.

Not being terribly familiar with the linkage, are there
bushings on both transmission and shifter side?

I took the housing off of the shifter, but it looks like
essentially i have to get underneath and look at it there.

I'll be givin a blood donation at the same time i guess, damn
mosquitos, they are ridiculous out here!!! !@#$%!

    Thanks

I figured this out, the bushing had been replaced with a
brass bushing, and needed to be lubricated. Once it was
lubed, I also made sure that the width of the shifter arm
was not to wide, so that the bolt that goes though would
not make the pivot too tight.
