"Road salt can affect air bag system

Honda is recalling its smallest car after the discovery that
road salt could corrode wiring for a system meant to protect
    infants from air bag injuries.

Transport Canada says salt from drivers' shoes can damage
the wiring for the air bag occupant detection system in about
26,000 Fits from the 2007 and 2008 model years. The wiring
runs under the carpet on the driver's side.

The system is designed to shut off front passenger air bags
if an infant seat is being used, or if a larger passenger is
    out of position.

Dealers will inspect the wire harness and re-insulate it or
    replace it."
