Do any of these liquid additives really work? If so, which product do you
    recommend?

I've used slick 50 in the past, but I've heard that all these off the shelf
cleaners don't really do much to improve performance or at least clean the
    injectors.

I guess it depends how dirty your fuel system/injectors are. If only
slightly dirty, then these off the shelf cleaners may be able to take care
of it. If really dirty, then I'm not sure...

As far as off the shelf, I'd go with either Chevron Techron concentrate or
    BG 44K.

    Cheers,

agree with pete. i have used them and had success with slightly 'missing'
    engine.

also had some success with throttle body 'sticking'. the injector cleaners
    cleared it up.

if real dirty, you'll need some heavier help.

One thing to keep in mind with these cleaners is to use it the tank
before your next oil change. Then most of the dirty particles and
contaminants will be gone in the oil change.

The dirty particles should never get anywhere near the oil. That's what
cylinder rings are for. Once flushed out of the injectors, the dirty
particles are either incinerated in the cylinder, and/or blown out the
    exhaust.

If the fuel leaks into your oil, then you have a whole other (BIG) problem
    to worry about.

Yes. Red Line SI-1, Schaeffer 131 Neutra and Chevron Techron all work
well. Also, isopropyl alcohol is great for removing moisture and has a
mild cleaning effect as well. Hard to beat at $1 for 12oz.
Slick 50 is a lot of slick marketing and very little performance. Try
a brand like the ones I mentioned above.

    Mr Jace.

I agree with your analysis regarding Red Line. I purchased a bottle at Pep
Boys and was delighted with the results.

Also, is Bror Jace your real name or is it an internet stage name? Just
    curious. Thanks.

Bror Jace is the name of an X-Wing pilot from a couple Michael Stackpole novels.
