After chasing this pipe dream for 3-4 days off and on I finally got
"tentative" local municipal building code approval for a Phill CNG
home refueling appliance. Then the Texas distributor informed me that
their allotment was all hand fabbed "beta" units for "control"
installations at other than residential locations. Argh. There is no
telling when (or if) this product will ever be ready for prime time.

The kicker is that even if the product goes into mass production there
is still little if any hope of recouping the $4,500-$6,500 purchase
premium for a CNG vs gasoline car. This is particularly so given the
Federal and state transportation related taxes that would likely be
imposed on "home" fueling. Would the government bill each home owner
based on his voluntary CNG fuel generation reporting? Add to that the
absence of any CNG subsidy; Texas passed the legislation but never
"funded" it. :>) What a bureaucratic fiasco. No wonder
    environmentalists get depressed.

"Environmentalists" are predisposed to be depressed because they are
recycled socialists, self-hating bedwetters and are always the poorest econ
and science students. They are always confused and depressed when their
utopian wishes either fail or don't happen instantly for obvious
economic/market, social or technical reasons. What's wrong with a gas
powered car especially the new ULEV's?

    ============================

Sorry, I walked in half-way thru the movie. . . . . or is this posted to
    the wrong NG?

Is this the "Fart in a Bottle to save gas" concept ? I liked the bumper
    sticker. :)

    Outline seems very sketchy.
