Living here in SoCal, prices are jumping like a frog contest! I've never
seen spikes of this magnitude so quickly. I saw a report Phoenix is now
$3.50!?! Can anyone in Phoenix confirm? Is this "broken pipe" for real?
(reminds me of our "energy crisis". Thanks again, Enron...)

What's the rest of the country doing? I seriously can't tell you exactly
how much gas is right now, because it's jumping in price so rapidly. I
    do know it's over $2.00.

My son picked the right time to move into a Honda Civic!

Dunno what you lot are complaining about! Try Uk gas prices at almost $6 a
gallon, 75% of the price goes to the thieving government :-(((

Price for regular in Minnesota is about $1.60-1.70 right now. I think
the gouging in Phoenix was brief, and yes, the pipeline break between
Phoenix and Tucson is real. Just what I've read.

Our local paper only shows cars lined up at service stations. You can
read about the problem in the Arizona Republic newspaper at
    http://www.azcentral.com/

I'm in upstate NY, and have seen the prices jump something like 15 cents
per gallon within the past week.

The funny thing was that we really didn't have a major jump at the
beginning of summer. Evidently "someone" wants to cash in on the last
    road trips of the summer...

We're still under $2/gallon, but at the rate we're going, I don't know
how much longer we will be.

Here in the Greater Toronto area, prices have also jumped from about 68
cents (canadian) a litre, to about 80 cents, in something like 4 days. I
have no idea what that would translate to in gallons, but you can see
    the percentage increase.

It's not *free* medical care, it's *universal* medical care.

Under $2/g for regular, but premium is $2/g in central Ohio today. We
had almost exactly the same 15-cent increase you saw.

Jumped from 1.55 per gallon on Monday 18 Aug to 1.75 on Sat, 13 Aug for
premium in Middle GA. Regular runs about 1.55. Altho my Prelude gets
around 28 or so to the gallon, it takes premium only.

  14. I just filled up with 87 (mid grade) at $1.65/gallon on Colorado's front
range. 85 was $1.55, I don't remember what the 91 was going for probably
    $.20 over the 87.

That's what you get for being socialist. You've got the tube, busses,
taxis and trains, trains, trains. So you don't have to drive if you
    don't want to.
