What if those SUV driver's only go to gas stations that use Domestic oil?

    80 Knight, Dec 13, 2008

  2. That would be wonderful, but not something you can predict in any meaningful
way. Stop trying to add detours.

Ever been to Italy? You'd have a constant blast from the horn with those
guys on small cycles and scooters. Don't trust that double yellow line
down the middle of the road either. It means danger, pass quickly"

    Ed Pawlowski, Dec 13, 2008

  4. Speaking of Italy, were you around when 60 Minutes aired this episode about
    the Lamborghini?

That isn't a detour in the slightest. If people only purchase gasoline from
stations that use strictly Domestic oil, then they aren't "supporting a
country who arranged for the death of 3000 American's".

There are plenty of choices. But telling people what they can and can not
drive is unfair. If you don't like SUV's, don't buy one. Others should be
allowed to like and buy them, just as you are allowed to dislike, and not
    buy them.

  7. 3000 American's what?

You're falling apart quickly. If I were you, I'd just bow out gracefully.
    Watch a nice video:

  8. I taught you or one of your clones yesterday that nobody in this discussion
was "telling" anyone what not to drive. Sorry it's hard to tell you fellas
apart. If you had anything unique to say, it might be easier.

  9. Officially -- I understand that official positions are mere technicalities
to you -- Saudi Arabia is not an enemy of the USA. Just because there are a
few nutcases there that do not like America does not make the country our
    enemy.

Officially, Iraq had declared itself as an enemy of America, yet there were
millions of Iraqis that actually like America.

    Jeff Strickland, Dec 13, 2008

  10. A few nut cases??? I must admit that you are very good at just one thing:
Proving that you do not read much. Saudi Arabia is run by nut cases. The
royal family is the government. You can't wrap your head around this because
in this country, one family doesn't dominate the government.

    JoeSpareBedroom, Dec 13, 2008
  11. That makes the government a monarchy, and the family is a monarch not a
nutcase. They are not a democracy (not a democratic as opposed to democrat
society -- see how that works in a sentence?), but that alone does not
define them as being a nutcase. Perhaps you used "nutcase" improperly.

You can't wrap your head around this because
You are the one here with a problem getting his arms around reality.

Show us a cite where the United States Department of State defines Saudi
Arabia is an enemy. I'll wait ...

To each their own. Most people dont NEED a vehicle that big- they buy it
to stroke their ego. those are the same people that live in shitty
section 8 apartments (or at home with mom) and can only afford to buy
their gas a couple gallons at a time. let em have their toys.

our biggest deficit has been with china for a long time now. yes- we
cohort with commies when they can supply us with cheap crap. but thats
ok, as long as you can get a stainless steel grill with a harley logo on
    it at walmart for $199.98

  15. This Saudi Arabia? Say it ain't so.

predicted when presented with the following.

  17. Thank you, Captain BesideThePoint.

Mexicans account for more than 60% of the illegal immigrants flooding into
the United States each year, but Mexico is not an invading nation. Mexico is
an ally, despite the flood of Mexicans.

There are a few nutcases in Saudi Arabia that flood across the border into
Iraq, but Saudi Arabia is not an enemy of the USA, it is an ally. The
OFFICAL position of the USA is that the Saudi royal family, and by extension
the government and the country is an ally.

So, I'm still waiting for an official citation that Saudi Arabia is not an
    ally.

    Jeff Strickland, Dec 13, 2008
  18. Traitor. You think it's beside the point. The Saudis do NOTHING to stop the
flow of lunatics who want to kill our soldiers, who you obviously care
    nothing about. You are detritus.

Only a simpleton needs a "citation" to prove what our military has proven by
    observation. You are a simpleton.

  19. Using that logic, Arizona is a terrorist state because it failed to stop Tim
    McVeigh.

You seem to be unaware of this, but OBL was expelled from Saudi Arabia.

    Still waiting ...

SUVs are needed by most people... how? They aren't. They are *wanted* by
some people (whose numbers appear to be shrinking) - for whatever reason(s).
SUVs offer a lot of space along with low gas milage, for a relatively high
purchase price. If you (plural you) don't need all of that space, want to
get good-to-excellent mpg, and don't want to spend more than is reasonable
for a vehicle that fits your needs, you don't want an SUV since it'd be a
    waste of money.
