    Hello,
Just got back from the honda dealer to have
front brake pads replaced. No other work was
done and rear brakes were adjusted.

Now, that I'm back, when I try to lift up
the hand brakes, I notice it's too tight and
doesn't go up as far as it used to.

Does anyone have any clues why all of a sudden
    the hand brakes got tighter?

    Thanks much!

because they adjusted the rear brakes. normal. actually, im surprised
    they took that extra step.

i just had to do that myself, to my 98 hatch.

Because they tightened it. It's a good maintenance step because the parking
brake cable stretches over time. It doesn't matter how high you pull the
parking brake. What matters is how much tension there is (in terms of how
firmly your car is secured, especially on an incline).

it kinda does. its supposed to be 3-4 clicks. mine was about 9 clicks
before i adjusted it. if it gets to be too high up, eventually itll hit
the limit of travel and not hold properly. best to keep it on the tight
    side.

it also meant my passenger side rear wasnt adjusting right. gonna have
to keep an eye on that.

different number of clicks for different cars too. In the maintenance
schedule for my 86 accord it says 7-11 clicks.

Right. '94 Civic has 6-10, and the top is 16 (sadly, I know that).

  7. Does it release completely when you let it down? If it does, then there
    is nothing wrong.
