My daughter has a 2000 Civic DX and I would like to improve the
handling, braking, safety, etc. The first thing I thought of was
puuting 17" tires/wheels. Would this be my best bang for the buck or is
there another component that you would consider upgrading first?

    Thanks

  2. I had a similar decision to make several years ago. Instead of
upgrading the compact I replaced it with an Accord. Just a thought.

the brakes on the 2000 dx, if you're running oem brake pads which are
very fade resistant, are good unless you're racing.

safety? carry a fire extinguisher. always.

handling? buy decent tires like conti or michelin, [they don't need to
be wide or low pro, then consider the civic ex sway bar. the civic si
    bar is, imo, too harsh.
