Additional problems continued from attached below with Odyssey are: - small gas tank.......(Windstar has 25 gal) - Awkward overdrive select...you have to detent the shift lever and move down..often missing the overdrive.....Other mfrs have a simple button to push on end of shift lever. - Uncomfortable arm rests on driver door and door top near window........hard plastic........Other mfrs have softer cloth or soft plastic covered foam. - 500lbs heavier.....you can feel it when you drive vs other mfrs. - Awkward radio controls....have to reach across to push scan. - No scan control in radio controls on steering wheel......only channel select. - Gas cap, when unscrewed, is not attached to vehicle. -Rear captains when folded down do not serve as table for rear bench seat. - Shift lever hids console controls on right side especially when not in overdrive (lower). - No panel illumination brightness adjust. Like to hear you thoughts. Thanks ----------------------------------------------------- Bought one after years of reading good reports in Consumers. Own two Windstars now....test drove Dodge. Cant say I didnt do my homework but after a few weeks of driving there a couple things I like and dont like. Like: Exremely quite engine and ride. Solid feel, handles very well. rear seat recessed into floor. Price seemed to be about same as Dodge Grand equivalent. Dont Like A/C is wimpy.....long time for air to get cold and cool down cab. Not many inside amenities.....passenger controlled air etc. Doors dont lock automatically when start driving. No leather on steering wheel. Turn ratio to large of steering wheel ....To much steering wheel turn for radius Parking Brake doesnt retract automatically when put in drive. Side doors dont open if transmission no in park. Seats not great....need more support on sides of legs..too too flat seat. Center fold down table...would like console. Cup holders in dash are not adjustable for large cups. No data display: No outside air temp measurement, No mileage, No compass, what is full auto vs auto on climate control? Like to hear you thoughts. What $ can I get for a Odyssey with 1200 miles on it? Thanks
yes. sounds like a complete POS to me. youd better trade it on a caravan. btw... my friend has a 98 ram, babied from purchase... just cracked the cylinder head. $1200. the jeep before that? cracked cast iron exhaust manifold, tho we fixed that ourselves. you couldnt pay me to drive a daimler chrysler.
-Column shifters in general are shitty. Sooner or later you gonna grab the wrong one. -I don't use door's armrest. -Which equivalent sized minivan is 500 lb lighter? Why do you get the impression that drive a heavy hunk of metal is like driving a sport car? Which ads brainwashed you, perhaps Sport Utility Vehicle ads? -Useless scan button. -I hate attached gas cap. I like to spin the cap to close it. The string get in the way. -I hate that shifter. -Due to Ford's defective product, we had a recall on that panel illumination. You should dump it.
I don't feel sorry for you one bit. It seems that most (if not all) of these "problems" should've been evident when you test drove the vehicle BEFORE purchasing it. It's not like it's a big mechanical failure that happened after buying it. You should've noticed that the gas tank was smaller than the Ford when you looked at the specs. You did test drive the Odyssey and read the spec before purchasing it, didn't you? Jase 2003 Accord EX-V6
