I have a 5-speed 91 Honda Accord and the gears are feeling hard to shift. Any thoughts? Thank you.
------------------------ Sean, You haven't told us the mileage, or the last time you drained and refilled your tranny, or the outside temperature. If it's -40 where you are, your problem might not be a problem. Otherwise, stick your pinky into the 'fill' hole and see if there's any fluid in the gearbox. Your oil change place will do this for you if you ask. You'd be better off to have a real mechanic drain and top it up for you with Honda MTF. Your owner's manual will tell you the exact capacity, or the parts guy at your dealer will know . . . . . 'Curly' -----------------------
It could be the cluch pressure plate is about to expire. It happened to me just 3 weeks ago in my 1993 integra. Hope tho for your sake it is just the fluids level. Tazzzzzzzzz
---------------------- Sean, Bear in mind that fluid levels don't tell the whole story. For instance, if you 'top up' the reservoir, but there's already air in the line, it will still have to be bled to cure the problem. A spongy feeling pedal and grinding shifts will persist until you eliminate the air. Rarely does the air bubble come back out for you. :-( 'Curly' -------------------------
