89 civic. Left headlight is out. I don't know if I have to buy the
whole headlight unit or just replace a bulb. Can I replace only the
    bulb?

You need to buy the complete head lamp assembly, including the mounting
bracket that houses the adjustment cage, and the lens.

    Should be about $225.00.

    Good luck.

Nah, his civic has the sealed beam. Can't replace bulb alone.

An '89 Civic with sealed beam headlights? Don't believe it. My '87 used
9004 bulbs, www.sylvania.com says the '89 used 9005 for high beams and
9006 for low beams. Looking at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com you can see
that there are two regular bulbs in each headlight assembly.

But Leo's are sealed. He needs to buy the whole assembly.
