I'm looking for a used car to buy, possibly a 5-10 year old
Honda, and I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me about the
headroom and legroom in the various models/years. I'm 6'4" with
long legs and have been having a terrible time finding a car that
fits me. Any recommendations, including non-Honda, will be
    greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The 98-99 Accord without the sunroof have a lot, but maybe not enough for
    you.

(don't laugh), but I had a '95 Neon. There was so much headroom and legroom
it was very nice. They had the true bubble roof and had a low seating
position, but great support from the seats. I know some of them had a bad
rap, but mine was trouble free. Traded it in at 73k miles. It was a
5-speed... oh yeah, I am 6'0, 200lbs. (to give you some reference). I miss
it sometimes as it was a fun vehicle.

Any of the SUV's have plenty, though you will pay at the gas pumps

Try a few on for size. You might be surprised. I have a friend who is 6'4"
who is currently driving an '83 3 door Civic. He also used to drive a 1200
Civic. However, I should note that the '88-'91 3 door Civics seem to have
much less room than the 4 door models.

A guy at work is 6'6", and he likes the 2 door accord. The oversized door
makes it easier to get out when the seat is all the way back. He has an
'04. He didn't look at the previous years models.

I'm just over six feet tall and I love my '92 Accord two door. I have
the seat about four notches from the full slid back, and the seat back
reclined two notches. I especially like that the back edge of the door
is behind my head when I turn to look out my window. In the wife's four
door, the door edge is right at my shoulder. bob

    I'm 6'4" and 275 lbs. I drive a 2003 Accord 4-door LX (NO SUNROOF)
there is plenty of headroom and the seats are phenomenally supportive.

Just make sure to get one WITHOUT a sunroof.

I found the latest generation of preludes have a fair amount of leg room. I
however found that the seating position for the
honda pilot was not comfortable, I'm 6'2".

Currently I drive a 2000 accord, its not bad for leg room. I test drove a
jetta once and the leg room also wasn't bad.
But I recommend taking lots of test drives until you find one that feels
good, or at least sit in lots of cars.

Thanks all of you for the replies. I've found that the moon/sun
roof is the culprit in almost every make and model of car, so my
search has been greatly narrowed (maybe too greatly, since almost
every car has got them now!). Too bad they don't list head and
leg room along with engine size and transmission type!
