I have NEVER informed or worked through my insurance company when somebody
else hit my cars. I contacted their company directly. My rates never went
up that way. I always got a fair shake. Driving on the expressway a lot I
have had 3 separate instances over 20 years where this has happened. My
son, on the other hand, caused two accidents, got a couple of tickets, and
    messed up my rates.

I have had similar experience with Progressive, and I insure my car and
motorcycle with them. I could have saved a couple dollars using Bike-line.com
for motorcycle insurance, but my good experience with Progressive was worth more
than that. I used to have State Farm and after many years of high premiums I
had a claim - and that was a crappy experience. They really sucked.
