    I have a 1992 Accord EX w/AT and 164,000 miles. I have a serious hesitation
problem when trying to accelerate from from about 10 MPH to 40 MPH.

I just replaced the PCV valve and have put in some Gumout Cleaner. Starting,
cruising and turning off are all OK. Mileage is also OK.

Sometimes it feels like to gas pedel is physically being held back by a
spring-like device. It is all very weird.

Otherwise, a great car. I'm looking forward to 200K miles.

    TIA,

If you haven't checked them already, for starters try:

    Air filter: ~ $10 DIY
    Fuel filter: ~ $20 DIY
Oxygen sensor: ~ $125 online OEM

Consider new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, too, depending
on when these were last replaced.

  3. Are you sure the transmission's not stuck on 4th. Tends to happen on this model.
