Hi I have a 01' accord v6 and once in awhile my emergency brake light comes
on on my dash. It usually comes on when I first start the car and its cold
and stays on for about 15 mins and goes away. I just had my front brakes
pads replace and the rear is still good, fluid level is ok.

Go to your Honda dealer and get a new improved Float and Strainer.
The Strainer has vent slots on top to stop this problem. The float is
improved also. About $8.00. I know, because I had the problem..there
is a bulletin from Honda on the problem . The parts go into your
    master cylinder reservoir.

When it's happened to me I add a little brake fluid to the master cylinder.
That has taken care of the problem.

Thanks Andy, I've just started seeing this problem. The fluid is fine, I'll
go get the part. '98 Accord.

This has happened to me twice in 6 years. Once after having the brakes
replaced, and just recently apparently due to normal disc wear. If it gets
to be a constant problem, I'll have to look into replacing the fluid
    sensor.

Did ANYBODY read the TSB that HONDA issued? There are TSB's for CR-V,
Civic, Accord. They have all had the same problem.

Thanks for the link. As stated, if it continues to be a problem I'll
    replace the "Float".
