My 1998 Honda CRV all wheel drive needs a propeller shaft, since these
vehicles are made in all wheel and front wheel drive can the propeller
shaft be removed. Thus the vehicle becomes a front wheel drive, any
negative impact to transmission or rear wheel gears

Take not about the warnings not to BEND the shaft in the middle while
    it's out.
