Baloney, The new chevy Equinox has a chinese engine, japanese trans and is
put together in canada. Honda is more american than most cars and far
superior to most. I will drive a honda and toyota forever and I have
worked in a chevy garage for 33 years. enough said !

 

Like Chevy being the "Heartbeat of America" and having to brand the GEO cars
since they weren't American and now having the GEO back as Chevrolets. Like
Ford Probes (Mazda).

It's NOT. It's made by Ford and uses Ford engine controls. Yes, Ford owns a
controlling interest in Mazda, but the Probe and 323 were largely different
cars.

The Probe and Escort DID use much of the unibody structure of the Mazda 323
though.

Automakers do this routinely, using existing structure commonly in various
countries, with other parts specific to the application.

 

Ford Probe, Mazda 626 and Mazda MX6 were all made at Flat Rock, MI in a
plant that used to belong to Mazda. In 1992 Ford purchased a 50% stake
in that assembly plant.

The Probe and the MX6 are not the same car, but they are built on the
same platform.

The Mazda 626 was sold as the Ford Telstar in some markets.

 

Yes, you are right, I was wrong. The Probe is based on the 626, not the
323.

The last generation Escort was based on the 323.
