    All:

Any reasons to select Chevy Venture LS over Honda Odyssey LX? I got the
quote for both of them and the Venture is more expensive even after $4000
    rebates (~$22,900 vs. ~$22,000).

    Thanks

  2. According to carsdirect.com, Venture LX is $21,286.

The obvious downside to Odyssey is that it will be redesigned for '05. If you
must buy now, get the redesigned Toyota Sienna instead. I've seen them on sale
    for less than $21K.

none at all. it wasnt even tested in the last car and driver minivan
comparo. according to them, the honda still rules, with the toyota sienna a
close second. they did like the disappearing seats on the chrysler vans, but
ill bet honda copies that on their next generation.

  4. If you go to Edmunds.com and look at true cost to own for each you will
notice that if you even got the lowest bottom of the line Venture for
$19,600 and a higher priced Odyssey at $24,900 after 5 years the Venture
cost is $36,900 and the Honda cost is $33,477.

Cost per mile is 4 cents higher over 5 years based on 15,000 miles a year.

If you really compare them together there is no comparison.

The Odyssey seems to have very poor traction in the snow and could use a good
traction control system to control the vehicle's dynamic. I suppose the 'car
like feel' comes with a price tag... The again, if you're located in warmer
climate, the vehicles prowess in the snow is not an issue.

It's strange that you havn't included the Sienna as one of the candiates.

According to Consumer Reports, the Odyssey has better crash tests,
especially the "offset" test.. Because of its poor offset test, they don't
    recommend the Venture.
