I have a 2000 AWD Honda CR-V. The blower has started making noise. My
guess is that some twigs/leaves are stuck there.

So, how do I get to the blower?

and how do I get to the A/C filter so that I can change it?

Also, is the cabin filter the same as the A/C filter?

    Thanks
    N.

To get to A/C (cabin) filter you need to remove the glove box. The
filter is supposed to be changed every so often.

  3. I don't know your model but usually, with Hondas, that's complicated and
can even mean purging and recharging the A/C system - the blower unit has
to be dropped out and sometimes the evaporator has to be moved to do that.
Some models have an access door under the plastic air plenum cover at the
bottom of the windshield to get to the blower cavity but it's pretty small
and diffcult to get things out.
Unfortunately, the filter in Hondas is downstream of the blower so that
will likely not help your problem. In Accords you have to take the
    AFAIK - yes.

I have a 99 Accord. Removing and reinstalling Accord's blower
motor/fan is a 5 min work. Look under the dash, behind the glove box.
It is held in place by 3 screws. I don't think CR-V would be a lot
    different.
I have a similar problem. I dropped something into the running fan
and broke some blades. Now I get noise and vibration at high speed
settings. Unfortunatelly nobody sells fan by itself, only with a
motor. cheapest I could find was $35 for a used assembly.

Replacing micron filters will not solve your noise problems.

  5. Unless you've actually removed the blower, I think you should re-evaluate
the time and work required for that. According to the 98-01 Accord service
manual there are four bolts and a nut to be removed to get the blower unit
out... preceded by the removal of the entire dashboard and the evaporator.

if you only want to pull the blower motor and fan blade, pull the 3
screws out on the bottom and drop it out.
i don't care what the service manual says you don't need to pull
the dash to get the case out. i work on these all day long and that's
    not how it's done.

no. it's just mechanical ability. just because a book says it's so
doesn't mean it is. there's addendums to those books from time to
    time.
in my opinion a service manual is a supplement to refer to for
specs. most of the time i find them uneeded.
